ATOM, PEEWEE, BANTAM, AND MIDGET GOALIE EVALUATIONS FOR 2017

For the 2017-2018 season, BAHA goaltenders will be evaluated at the goalie specific evaluation sessions (listed below) as well as the cascade process initiated for each age level if the goaltender is not selected for the AA programs. Details on the cascade process are provided on the website and the information document address the cascade process for goaltenders.
All goaltenders that have signed up for levels Atom through Midget must attend the Precision Goalie Institute (PGI) age specific goalie evaluations that begin the weekend of August 26th. Precision Goalie Institute (PGI) is an outside evaluation party and will be facilitating the evaluations and completing the rankings. (Please see BAHA schedule for predetermined times for each level)

• Atom August 26th - 9:00 - 10:00 Rink 2
• Peewee August 26th - 10:15 -11:15 Rink 2
• Bantam September 1st 5:30 - 6:30 Rink 2
• Midget September 10th 6:45 - 7:45 Rink 1

All goalies will be ranked by PGI on ice evaluators as well as by a group of 6-8 goaltender evaluators selected to assist BAHA through the season in goaltender training and coaching. All goaltenders will be evaluated on a pre-determined set of drills. The drills are used by Hockey Alberta in the evaluation of their goaltenders at various levels. The drills are provided on the website here

Depending on the level and number of goaltenders trying out for AA, the top six goalies will move forward through the AA process. Some levels may not even have eight goalies in total.

Goaltenders at all evaluations continuing on through the AA evaluation
will be evaluated by 3-4 goaltender evaluators at each scrimmage throughout the remainder of the AA evaluations. In certain instances goaltenders may be evaluated during practice skates if deemed necessary to provide a more thorough evaluation

Goaltenders that sign up for the AA tryouts and are not selected in the top six (following the age specific evaluation) will be refunded their entrance fee for the AA tryout.
After our AA teams are finalized all remaining goaltenders will continue trying out for the next tiers via the Cascade process. Goalies will be tiered for the cascades based on the rankings in the goaltender evaluation.
